Braces offer some advantages over clear aligner alternatives:
Comprehensive Solution – Traditional braces can help with a wide range of orthodontic issues, including overcrowding, spacing problems, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and more. It’s an effective option for even the most complex issues.
Durability – Braces are made from high-quality, durable materials. They can handle your regular wear and tear during the day. They will stay in place throughout your treatment, ensuring consistent and reliable results.
Precise Results – With traditional braces, your dentist has control over the movement of each tooth. This level of control allows for more efficient tooth alignment and leads to precise outcomes.
Requires Less Discipline – You may love the idea of Invisalign clear aligners, but many patients struggle with wearing their aligners 20 to 22 hours a day. Your dentist may recommend braces if this poses too great of a challenge for you.

First time at Creekwood Dental. Got us in right away. Abagail, my daughter’s hygienist, front desk and Dr. Smith were all super nice! Their new patient packet only asked for info needed, so I didn’t need to fill out 10 pages of nonsense. Happy we found this place!
Best Dental Services I have ever received!!! I went to 4 different dentist in the last year trying to find a decent one. I saw they had an overall 5 start review, which in my opinion is very rare. Glad I decided to try it. I had to get crowns on my top 6 front teeth (argh!!!). I absolutely hate the dentist from a childhood trauma. It was a long process, but they handled it so well. It was a smooth process (even if the unexpected happened). They made feel completely at ease. The front desk were friendly and very knowledgeable about the insurance process… what was covered and what would not be. Everyone was so friendly. The office was clean and inviting. Sterile procedures were used throughout every process.
Excellent facility! My husband and I are new to Kingwood and we’re so happy we found them. The entire staff was awesome. My teeth are crazy sensitive and the hygienist made the cleaning completely painless. The dentist was thorough and has a great sense of humor! Highly recommend.
My experience at Creekwood Dental and Dr. Smith and his staff was great atmosphere. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable all around. Dr. Smith explained what to expect and look forward to. I look forward to visiting again.
The staff is always so welcoming and friendly, and Dr. Smith is always willing to explain everything thoroughly. It’s a great place, and we highly recommend it.

Common Questions About Traditional Braces
What are traditional metal braces? +–
Traditional metal braces are what most people think of when orthodontic treatment comes to mind. This method uses metal brackets, bands, and wires to move your teeth into their correct positions. You’ll come in every few weeks to make sure your treatment is on course and to get your braces tightened by your dentist.
How much do traditional metal braces cost? +–
Each patient is different, with unique needs and circumstances. Consequently, it is difficult to quote a price on your treatment with metal braces until we’ve had a chance to perform an examination and work up a treatment plan. We encourage you to come in for an initial consultation, so we can design a treatment plan and give you an accurate price on your orthodontic care.
How do I brush with metal braces? +–
Keeping your teeth clean while wearing braces is similar to your usual oral hygiene routine. You should use a soft-bristle toothbrush, and try to avoid brushing too aggressively, so you don’t risk damaging your brackets and wires. It’s also wise to replace your toothbrush more often than you normally would. Flossing is different because it requires a special tool to thread the dental floss around your braces. We are happy to demonstrate the use of this tool if you’d like.
